This weekend Matt and I had the opportunity to head down to Washington DC for our first (of many to come) sightseeing adventures. We decided to head to a central location in DC called "The Mall." This area covers all of the famous monuments (Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, etc) and the many Smithsonian museums.
Just as we were beginning our adventure all of the sudden a noisy, rip-roaring thunder erupted. Due the the fact that it was Memorial Day weekend there just so happened to be a humongous bike rally that day and it started about five minutes after we arrived. I kid you not that this thing lasted over 3 hours with a non-stop flow of endless motorcycles! It was a cool thing to see and I totally admit that these middle-aged, Harley loving, tattooed activists made me get a little emotional. For some reason there passion and dedication for others got to me.

The bike brigade

I fell in love with this courtyard in the 8th grade upon my first visit to DC, and Matt said that one day when I build my dream house I can have one :)

If you look really hard you can see that they are setting up for a Memorial Day concert down by the Lincoln Memorial

"My Idol"- For those of you who don't know this, I have kind of an obsession with Thomas Jefferson. For example I drew up my very own floor plans of his home so some day I can build my own "Mini-Monticello."....Lame I know
