So I'm a major slacker and have been putting off updating our blog due to the many aspects of our busy life. Since nothing too exciting has happened the last few weeks I thought I would give an update or review of our fun-filled summer.
The Summer started off with Matt working in Arizona and myself lying in bed with a broken back. After about a month life started getting back to normal. I was able to go back to work and Matt surprised me with a visit. After eagerly waiting for about 4 weeks Matt came back up to Utah the following week and I was finally able to announce that we were officially engaged.
In July I was able to go down and visit Matt in Phoenix and get a taste of the toasty Arizona weather. We enjoyed the 4th of July together and watched fireworks over the Tempe Town Lake. After returning home wedding plans came into full gear. Matt and I were able to see each other about every two weeks through the end of the summer.
The weekend Matt returned I was able to receive my endowments and what a special event that was! The following Monday we attended my Grandma's funeral. After years of suffering from Huntingtons disease she was able to pass away peacefully with her children by her side and many of us grandchildren were able to say our goodbyes. What a neat experience it was though just after having gone through the temple and understanding more about what is in store for all of us!
Following the funeral we headed off for vacations! The first half of the week was spend with Matt's family up at East Canyon. We enjoyed boating, swimming, and some good old games of shuffle board. The second half of the week we joined up with my family in Island Park. We had a good time seeing the beautiful sights in Yellowstone which I haven't seen in years!
To finish off the summer we ended it with a bang. Matt and I were married the first week of September in the Logan Temple. It was an amazing day that was special and stress-free! We got married and then had a luncheon with those that attended the temple at Hamilton's up in Logan....so yummy! The following day we had a beautiful reception in my parents yard. Everything turned out picture perfect and all the planning was worth it!
